The 2020 Philosophy Department Student Essay Contest is now open!

First prize this year will be $250 and second prize will be $100. Essays must be submitted to the Philosophy department by email (phil@calpoly.edu) by May 1, 2020 to be guaranteed consideration.

Only one entry per student is allowed, and each entry must be nominated by a professor. (You're encouraged to request a nomination from a faculty member if you have something you'd like to submit.)

Please make sure you follow theguidelines for blind submission described in the rules on the website.
